ENTRANCE WALL LANDSCAPING Posted 10.28.12
Work on new landscaping along the Yellowleaf entrance wall has now been completed for the season; additional work will be done in the Spring. Some of the original plants were moved and re-planted at the park entrance. New plants include dwarf roses and dwarf loripetalum that will allow the stone wall to show thru. Plants previously put on the island have also been repeated at the wall to better coordinate the entire entrance landscaping. Thanks to all who participated in this project and in our continuing effort to keep Yellowleaf well-maintained and beautiful!
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION Posted 10.22.12
Want to help education in our community and the Chelsea Middle School? They are raising funds by collecting box tops from all food boxes ... on any food box that you use. When you are finished with a box, cut off the top, save it and then turn in your collection to neighbor Cindy Garmon. She is collecting them from our neighborhood - you can drop them by her office at the Middle School, or leave them in an envelope in the entrance neighborhood "mailbox" on the right side of the street just below the island. Questions? Call Cindy at 678-9488.
ENTRANCE LANDSCAPING Posted 10.22.12
Work is underway to re-landscape the area in front of the Yellowleaf entrance wall; a new plan has been drawn up and approved. Plants no longer needed were transplanted to the park entrance area last weekend. New plants will be put in along the wall this week, and will better coordinate with entrance island landscaping. Anyone interested in "digging in the dirt" to help with this project can contact Jim or Linda Powers at 566-2937 - their plan is to complete all work before Halloween.
HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT on 10/31 Posted 10.17.12
Yellowleaf is holding Halloween Trick or Treat activities on Wednesday, October 10/31. We'll also have the services of the COP conducting traffic control at the entrance, and patrolling the neighborhood until about 9:30pm when the crowd thins out. Time to stock up on Halloween candy! And for any new neighbors - get ready - it's like one big block party!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED ... FOR CHRISTMAS TOWN! Posted 10.13.12
The next Park Project fundraiser will be held on December 15th - we'll have a concession stand at the Chelsea Christmas Parade! Volunteers are needed to help in a number of ways. Creative folks are needed to build a "Christmas Town" facade and to help paint some festive scenery. We also need help with baked goods and manning the "windows" in Christmas Town. We'll start working on this event on October 25th - if you want to participate in this fundraiser, please contact Brenda Mellen at 678-2437. It should be a lot of fun!
PICS FROM CHELSEA DAY Posted 10.13.12
